A local residential and commercial exterior-renovation company, owned by Tom and Katelynn Cutts. “We specialize in steep-slope and low-slope roofing, as well as siding, gutters, and skylights,” explains Katelynn. “Our goal is to provide homeowners and exceptional customer experience. We understand that home renovations or repairs can be stressful, and we strive to make the process something all homeowners will enjoy.”

It’s a people business
Throughout Tom’s college years, he worked on building-exterior work and grew to love the people and the industry. “With the support of my wife, Katelynn, we took on the challenge and launched Resistance Exteriors in 2014,” explains Tom. “Not only did we want to provide quality craftsmanship and exceptional customer service, we also wanted to build a business that fosters a positive, healthy lifestyle for people to improve themselves.”
“Sometimes we joke that we’re not in the exteriors industry, we’re actually in the people industry,” kids Katelynn. “People are our biggest inspiration and keep us doing what we love. It’s the connections you make, the lives you improve, and the homes and businesses you protect. Through this business, we’ve connected with so many Lake Country residents that we feel truly blessed. This community is filled with some amazing and talented people, and we feel so privileged to work with so many of them over the years.”
It all began in high school
Born and raised in Lake Country, Tom and Katelynn began dating in high school. Today, their family has grown with children Dallas (16) and Ducati (7). In addition, their family includes a dozen chickens and two adorable cats. “We’re really two peas in a pod,” says Katelynn. “We both enjoy traveling, fishing and exploring the outdoors.”
“Lake Country is our home, and this community is important to us,” states Tom. “Resistance Exteriors is a huge advocate for supporting the local community by sponsoring local events, providing charitable donations, participating the food drives, sponsoring youth programs and so much more.”
